About
Markus Voetter is a landscape photographer originally from Germany and now based on Ireland’s west coast along the Wild Atlantic Way. His work is driven by a deep appreciation for wild landscapes, changing light, and the quiet atmosphere found in remote places.
Growing up in the scenic countryside of what was then East Germany, Markus developed an early fascination with the outdoors as well as with drawing and illustration. Photography gradually became his chosen medium — a way to translate the mood and character of a place into a visual form that can be shared with others.
What began as a childhood curiosity evolved into a lifelong creative pursuit. Over the years, his work has appeared in publications such as Stern Magazine and Professional Photographer Magazine, and has been exhibited in galleries across Ireland and internationally.
Today Markus focuses on creating carefully crafted landscape photographs that celebrate the beauty and atmosphere of Ireland’s natural and historic landscapes — from dramatic Atlantic coastlines to ancient castles and quiet rural scenes.
Through his fine art prints, he aims to bring a sense of place, calm, and connection to the landscapes of Ireland into homes and spaces around the world.
Each photograph is carefully selected for printing using museum-quality materials to ensure exceptional detail and longevity.
