Faces & Crafts of Kinvara
Kinvara is a picturesque seaside town on the south shore of Galway Bay just on the footsteps of the Burren National Park. It is also an unmissable stopping point on the world-famous ‘Wild Atlantic Way’, which happens to be the longest defined coastal drive (2,500km) in the world. My family and I are proud to be part of the thriving cosmopolitan community of Kinvara.
In ‘Faces & Crafts of Kinvara’ I’m capturing the work of local craftspeople. As a photographer, I naturally feel drawn to documenting particularly intriguing facets of life, which has led to this ongoing photographic project. My aim is to reveal and promote some of the traditional professions to be found in Kinvara; to document their individual skills, and to inspire new generations to continue these crafts. Also, because they are integral to the ongoing success of our town I feel it important to record and preserve the work of these artisans.
